After Hours Care

We encourage you to refer to our symptom checker on our website first, when practical, before calling the doctor. A physician is on call after hours. Call the main number, and you will be directed to contact the Children's Mercy Hospital Triage line. A nurse will listen to your concerns and if your physician needs to be contacted they will contact him/her. If your child needs to be seen they will inform you and you may be seen at Children's Mercy Urgent Care or go directly to the Emergency Room.  Children's Mercy Urgent Care does not treat patients over the age of 18. If this is something that can wait until our office opens at 8am during the week then you may be seen during our walk-in hours 8am-noon Monday-Friday or Urgent Care from 4pm-7pm Monday -Thursday. We also have Urgent Care hours on Saturday from 9am-2pmPlease save routine questions, refills, behavior issues, & prescription refills for M-F during regular office hours rather than calling during Saturday Urgent Care.

Appointments

We have walk-in hours for sick children M-F 8AM-Noon, also Urgent Care on M-Th 4PM-7PM. These appointments are first come first serve. Depending on patient volume, it is sometimes necessary for us to cap walk-in and/or Urgent Care. We appreciate your understanding and patience in these instances. Other appointments may be made by contacting the office to schedule an appointment time.

To help provide timely service to our patients, we prefer to schedule all visits. If you are later than 15 minutes for your appointment, we will try to work you back into the schedule, or perhaps offer an appointment to you with another provider. Out of courtesy to our other patients, we may be forced to ask you to reschedule your appointment. Village Pediatrics is committed to providing all of our patients with exceptional care. When a patient does not show for a scheduled appointment or fails to cancel without giving enough notice, they prevent another patient from being seen. Please call us at 913-642-2100 at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule. If prior notification is not given you may be subject to a charge.

Sick Child Visits

If you would like us to see more than one child, please schedule both of them when you make your appointment. Without an appointment, we may not be able to see a sick sibling right away, and you may be asked to wait while the provider sees a scheduled patient who may be waiting.

Well Child Visits

To keep your children healthy, it is important to bring them in for regular checkups. We recommend that you call 4-8 weeks in advance so you may choose the date that best fits your needs.

Walk-Ins

We have walk-in hours Monday-Friday 8am-Noon and Urgent Care Monday-Thursday 4pm-7pm. We also have urgent care on Saturdays from 9am-2pm. We are closed for lunch between 1-2 Monday through Friday. There are no walk-in appointments accepted between noon and 4pm. Be aware that walk in and Urgent Care may be busy at times and require a wait. Please be patient.

Emergencies will always be seen upon arrival.
